1:9 This reminds me of the great commission " All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age"

The one difference is that we are saving instead of kicking people out.

Ch 2:8ff When I read how Rahab believed in God because of the hugh witness of the Israelites I am reminded of 1 Peter 2:12 "Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us".

Ch 3:5 This idea of consecrating before a particular task or mission I guess is like praying before doing something, but I feel like it should be more even as God followers today. Any thoughts?

1:3 "Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you." This is quite encouraging in the fact that where ever we go the Lord has given us every step we take and we can trust that each step we take is truely representing his name.

2:19 "Then if anyone goes out of the doors of your house into the street, his blood shall be on his own hands." When we stay in Gods "house" we are dwelling in his protection, grace and peace and when ever we leave his presence or "house" it truely is in our own hands...which usually is never good.

Good to see you here Biggie B! BIGGEST BOYYY!

1:8 - This is an important key to leadership: Good leaders never allow their hearts or minds to stray from God's truth.

1:9 - Great verse when going through trials and suffering - we can face anything when we know we are not alone.

1:16 - I think it is awesome that the leadership transition went so smoothly...it says alot about how effective Moses was at raising Joshua up and uilding peoples' confidence in him.

2:8-11 - Rahab has great faith, this is why she is saved when no one else in Jericho is. All the other people in Jericho fear God, but that does not cause them to change their lives. Rahab acts on her fear...she acts out her faith.

3:5 - This is something that should never be lost. They make sure that they are spiritually prepared before something huge takes place.
