I Corinthians Chapter 6 - May 23, 2008

I only get a couple minutes around Internet today, so I cannot write my typical blog entry. I will read the chapter and would love to hear your comments. The ball is in your court!

How many petty squabbles do we have with fellow believers? When we do not learn conflict management with our own group – Christians – how can we expect anyone else to want to follow Christ when they see no difference? There are a multitude of God-given solutions in His Word – read it, use it.

The Msg 16-20 – read this whole section – it falls right in line with what Song of Songs says – “There's more to sex than mere skin on skin. Sex is as much spiritual mystery as physical fact.”

If all of us really believed that Jesus went with us wherever we go, would we go those places, watch, participate in, or say all the things we do? In my own life, it is this fact that leads me to repentance – wanting to not do that stuff again – because He was and is there – and that is not the kind of servant I want to be for Him.

Peace,
j

I once heard Francis Chan say that partaking in sexual sin is basically raping the Holy Spirit: you are causing the Spirit to partake in stuff He does not want to be a part of, but as temples of the Spirit, He will be in us, no matter what we are doing.
