I love verse 29, where after Peter and John had been before the high priests, the people pray to God that they may have boldness in the midst of these trials. They know they will have opposition in sharing the gospel. Some of their own have experienced it. And while that event is fresh in their memories, their prayer to God consists of acknowledging the opposition, and asking for boldness. They didn't ask for the opposition to stand down or be lighter in their efforts, but instead asked for their attributes to be enhanced. They wanted to overcome the opposition, but not at a depletion of the opposition's abilities. They wanted to do this through the increase in their own attributes. Father, help me to have the courage to ask for strength and not weakness for those who oppose me.
